Whatever happened in July 2021 has surely been erased in Siyakholwa Kuse’s memory as he dished out a beautiful performance reclaiming his South African minimumweight title following a win over Bangile Nyangani at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Sunday afternoon.
It was vintage stuff from the Mdantsane-born lad as he outclassed Nyangani from Mthatha to avenge for his loss to the same boxer almost two years.
All three judges nodded in agreement giving Kuse a well deserved victory. The judges’ score cards read – Lulama Mtya 119-109, Simphiwe Tom and Thandi Ngodwana had Kuse winning by 116-112.
The response from the fans, who converged at the fight venue said it all as they loved everything that Kuse did inside the ring on his way to becoming a two-time South African champion.
Whatever his trainer Makazole Tete, who was assisted by Thembani Gopheni, told him while preparing for this fight really helped Kuse make a statement that he’s back with a bang.
