The smile said it all as Melissa Miller reclaimed the South African female bantamweight title following a split decision victory as she recorded her first win over Sharadene Fortuin in four fights at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Sunday.

Judges Lulama Mtya and Thandi Ngodwana had Miller winning by 95-94 and 97-93 respectively while Allen Matakane gave the fight to Fortuin (96-94).

This was sweet revenge for Miller from Eldorado Park, who lost the title to Fortuin in August 2021. Seymour-born Fortuin defeated Miller in a rematch in December 2021.
