Duncan Village boxer Yanga ‘Showtime’ Sigqibo’s showdown against Brazilian boxer Gustavo Lucas dos Santos has been rescheduled for next month.

Initially, Sigqibo was set to fight against the unbeaten Brazilian boxer in an international bout at Vodaworld, Midrand, on Saturday next week.

The duel between the former South African junior-bantamweight champion and Dos Santos has now been rescheduled for Saturday, 30 September, at the same venue.

This is going to be Sigqibo’s first fight since his defeat by former World Boxing Organisation (WBO) minimumweight, junior-flyweight and flyweight champion Kosei Tanaka in Japan in December last year.

On the other hand, Dos Santos, who has stopped all his five opponents, has fought twice this year defeating his compatriots Tiago Xavier da Silva in May and Adriano Augusto Silva Paiva in February.

The 31-year-old Dos Santos who goes by the moniker ‘Popozinho’ will be fighting for the first time outside his native Brazil.
