Pakistan beat the Proteas by 28 runs in Centurion to take the one day international (ODI) series 2-1.
Chasing 321 runs to win after Pakistan had knocked 320 for seven in 50 overs, the South Africans were all out for 292 in 49.3 overs with Janneman Malan scoring 70 runs in 81 balls while Kyle Verryn knocked 62 after facing 53 deliveries and Andile Phehlukwayo scored 54 off 61 balls.
Pakistan swashbuckling batsman Fakhar Zaman led with the bat scoring 101 in 104 deliveries with captain Babar Azam knocking 94 off 82 ball and Imam-Ul-Haq scoring 57 runs after facing 73 balls.
Proteas allrounder Jon-Jon Smuts was the most expensive bowler picking up one wicket and giving away 67 runs in eight overs.
Meanwhile, the Proteas and Pakistan are now going to play four Twenty20 (T20) matches starting in Johannesburg on Saturday, 10 April.
Two matches (10 and 12) are going to be played at the Wanderers and the other two in Centurion (14 and 16 April).
