Mapule Ngubane made a successful first defence of her South African female middleweight title at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban on Saturday evening.
Ngubane, who won the title in March last year, defeated Rushda Mallick on points in the rematch of their first fight which was held at the Greyville Convention Centre. The two lasses fought for the then vacant title last year.
Meanwhile, SA female junior-bantamweight champion Thema Zuma outpointed Malawian opponent Chimwemwe Banda in a six rounds fight in the main supporting bout.
