A once promising boxing career that has stalled because of a number of reasons might be resurrected as one-time world title contender Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile has joined Mlandeli Tengimfene’s All Winners Boxing Club in Mdantsane.

Ink Sport has it on good authority that the Duncan Village-born boxer is going to be trained by former South African flyweight champion Makazole Tete.

Contacted for comment, Tengimfene said on Monday evening: “I’m out of town at the moment.”

Four months ago, the former South African featherweight champion was announced as Fantastic 2 Boxing Promotions’ new recruit after more than eight years as a Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) boxer.

The 27-year-old southpaw, who lost to Japanese boxer Kenichi Ogawa when they fought for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight title in the United States in November 2021, has not fought since he stopped Malawian Romeo Makwakwa in East London in July last year.

Meanwhile, Fuzile was not available when called for comment as his cellphone went to voicemail.
