Algerian side CR Belouizdad became the only team to beat Mamelodi Sundowns in the group stages of the CAF Champions League following a 2-0 win over the Brazilians at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Friday afternoon.
First half goals by Amir Sayoud and Ahmed Gasmi were enough to give the Algerians a much-needed win in Group B.
This is a very important win for the Algerians as they have now made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League together with Sundowns.
The Brazilians won four times, drew once and lost once while Belouizdad registered two wins, three draws and a loss in the group stages.
