Acting Boxing South Africa (BSA) chief executive officer Erick Nsikayezwe Sithole has insisted that Loyiso Mtya has not been sidelined and elbowed out of the two-man team, which went around the country training and assessing BSA licensees.
Mtya together with BSA board member Khulile Radu were tasked with the job of training and assessing licensees before the renewal of their annual licenses. However, only Radu has been doing the job in the latest round of training and assessments held in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
“Training and assessment is continuing. There are two people conducting the training and assessment, Mr Radu and Mr Mtya. Mr Radu is the leader of the whole process. We had a first phase and now we have a second phase and only Mr Radu is doing the course now. We have decided on only him as we are saving costs,” Sithole said.
Mtya, a former BSA director of operations and acting chief executive officer, cited conflict of interest as a reason why he refused to comment about his absence from the latest round of training and assessments.
Meanwhile, Radu will be conducting training and assessment of Western Cape licensees at the Garden Court Nelson Mandela Boulevald in Cape Town this coming Saturday and Sunday.
