Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez retained his International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Association (WBA) ‘Super’, World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) super-middleweight titles after he defeated American boxer Jermell Charlo by a unanimous decision at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, United States, on Sunday morning (South African time).
After 12 rounds of action, Steve Weisfeld scored the fight 119-108 while Max DeLuca and David Sutherland had the Mexican winning by 118-109 on their score cards.
