It’s going to be a few days of anxiety for Andre Thysse as he awaits the outcome of his disciplinary hearing.
The award-winning Thysse appeared before a Boxing South Africa (BSA) disciplinary committee on Tuesday after he was charged for violating COVID-19 regulations. Arguments were heard before the DC hearing was finalised on Tuesday with the promise that a verdict would be delivered at a later stage.
Thysse, who traded under Real Steel Promotions when he was still a promoter, was dragged before a BSA DC after he attended a tournament which was promoted by Jackie Brice in Cape Town last December.
The former South African super-middleweight champion attended the tournament to support his boxer Josh Pretorius during a then vacant South African heavyweight title fight against eventual winner Tian Fick.
Before appearing before the DC, the 2016 Promoter of the Year award winner vowed to fight BSA saying he won’t be silenced.
