A series of defensive errors have contributed immensely to Chippa United’s woeful run this season.
And Chilli Boys defender Nyiko Mobbie has admitted to such as they are finalising their preparations for Sunday’s DStv Premiership fixture against second-placed Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.
“It’s difficult. It’s not going to be easy to play Arrows. We are going to fight in that game. At this stage it doesn’t matter how they play. We have to look at ourselves and what we can do to win the game,” Mobbie said.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC defender revealed that they are working on rectifying their mistakes.
“To be honest, we cost the team goals because of our mistakes. We have been working on that,” Mobbie said.
“At this stage we have to support each other. We will fight for the badge. It’s all about the team. We are going to fight for our lives. We have to fight to save the team.”
The Chilli Boys are second from the bottom with 17 points from 23 matches while Abafana Bes’thende have collected 41 points from 23 games.
