Battle-scarred warrior Jackson ‘M3’ Chauke strongly believes that Luyanda ‘Prettyboy’ Ntwanambe has a bright future inside the square ring.
Chauke said this after he outpointed the 22-year-old Ntwanambe when they fought for the South African flyweight title and the then vacant WBO Global belt at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Gqeberha on Saturday evening.
Ntwanambe took the fight to the experienced Chauke from the first bell. However, the direction of the fight changed after the sixth round with Chauke using his experience something, which helped him emerge victorious.
“It was a good fight and I learnt a lot from it. Ntwanambe was a bit awkward. I gave away the first few rounds, but all in all I did very well during the fight to get the win,” Tembisa-based Chauke said.
“Ntwanambe has a bright future. He’s got a few things he needs to fix. I give him credit for standing his ground against me. He needs more fights so that he can get more experience. Truly speaking, he is a good boxer.”
Chauke, who turns 36 on 29 May, has said that he’s going to wait for his handlers regarding a way forward.
“I don’t know what the next step is. However, I wanna say that I will take any opportunity that comes my way,” he said.
