Boxing trainer Khangelani Jack has insisted that he has not abandoned his mission to train boxers in Benoni, Ekurhuleni, in Gauteng and returned to the Eastern Cape.
Jack was responding to rumours that he has returned home after he was seen helping out in boxers’ corners during the Last Born Promotions tournament, which was held at the Whittlesea Multipurpose Hall in Sada on Sunday.
The 2023 Trainer of the Year award winner shocked everyone when he left Paradise Boxing Club in Nxarhuni to go join Rock Solid Boxing and Fitness Gym in Benoni three months ago.
“No, it’s not true that I have abandoned my mission. I’m back home for the December holidays and will return to Gauteng in January,” Jack said.
“I have no intentions of coming back to train boxers in Mdantsane. I’m fine where I am in as far as training boxers is concerned.”
Jack left Thembelani ‘Shakes’ Hlombe’s Paradise Boxing Club and joined forces with Chantal Brown in Benoni where he trains the likes of Prichard Dube, Chris Golding and Clement Pilusa.
