Duncan Village boxer Phumelela ‘The Truth’ Cafu didn’t even raise a sweat as he stopped Enathi Stelle in the first round at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in East London on Saturday evening.
In a vacant junior-bantamweight title fight, which pitted Duncan Village against Mdantsane, Cafu took only 26 seconds to end the proceedings with a left hook to the chin.
This fight was hyped up in the weeks leading to the bout and many people thought that Stelle was going to give Cafu hard time inside the ring. However, it was never to be.
Zolani Tete’s 11 seconds record, which he set in a fight against Siboniso Gonya in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) bantamweight title in November 2017, still remains the quickest knockout in fistic sport.
Meanwhile, Khaya Busakwe retained his SA lightweight title following a ninth round technical knockout victory over Shameeg Williams.
