Angola defeated Mauritania 3-2 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations match at Stade de la Paix de Bouake in Ivory Coast on Saturday evening.

Angolan striker Jacinto Muondo Gelson Dala scored his first goal of the match when he gave the Black Sables Antelopes the lead in the 30th minute.

After trying to get a goal for some time, Sidi Bouna Amar equalised for Mauritania two minutes before the half-time break. 

Five minutes into the second half, Dala restored the Black Sables Antelopes’ lead when he scored his second goal of the match. Four minutes later, Gilberto increased Angola’s lead. 

Mauritania fought hard and didn’t give up when they were two goals behind. Aboubakary Koita scored Mauritania’s second goal from long range in the 58th minute.
