A merciless Stellenbosch FC whipped Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side Milford FC 6-1 in a Nedbank Cup last-16 match at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban, on Friday evening.
After numerous attacks and misses, Stellies finally scored through Devin Titus’ tap in following Sihle Nduli’s cross from the left in the 20th minute.
Ivorian Anicet Oura doubled Stellies’ lead when he beat Milford goalkeeper Siphamandla Hleza in the 34th minute. Oura had only been on the field for five minutes after he had substituted an injured Antonio van Wyk.
Milford pushed hard in search of a goal and their efforts were rewarded with Menzi Chili’s strike from Siphosethu Ndlabi’s cross a minute before the half-time break.
Oura, formerly with ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast, completed his brace with a curler in referee’s added time to make it 3-1 from Iqraam Rayners’ pass.
Stellies had a bright start to the second half with Andre de Jong scoring twice in a space of two minutes. He netted his first goal in the 46th minute and completed his brace two minutes later.
Mervin Boji, who was a second half substitute, scored Stellies’ sixth goal two minutes from full-time.
