AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy and his goalkeeper Veli Mothwa won the March/April DStv Coach of the Month and Player of the Month awards respectively.
McCarthy led Usuthu to seven wins and a draw scoring 13 times and conceding only twice during this period. This is the second award in succession for McCarthy, who got the nod ahead of Lamontville Golden Arrows’ Mandla Ncikazi and Manqoba Mngqithi from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mothwa won the award after he kept six clean sheets beating his teammates Tapelo Xoki and Augustine Mulenga to win the gong.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic’s strike against Orlando Pirates won him the Goal of the Month award.
