Speed merchant Makazole Mapimpi will be ready for Sharks action in about two weeks’ time.
This was confirmed by Sharks coach Sean Everitt following Mapimpi’s return to the side from Japan last Friday.
“Mapimpi has been amazing on and off the field. As you know, he has always had a knack from a conditioning point of view. But the fact is that he hasn’t played much, hasn’t trained much. It was good for him to get a full week at training in preparation for his return probably in two weeks’ time,” Everitt said.
Meanwhile, the Sharks are going to welcome the Stormers in a Rainbow Cup match at King’s Park in Durban on Saturday (13h00).
The Sharks have won twice and lost once in the competition while their opponents lost two matches and won once.
“They’ve got a good pack of forwards as we saw in the Currie Cup. They were very forward oriented in the way they played. I think they are gonna go back to that. They probably want to tighten things up,” Everitt said referring to the Stormers.
The two sides are playing each other for the second time in the competition with the Sharks having won 33-30 earlier.
