Mamelodi Sundowns are going to play against Stellenbosch FC in the semi-finals of the MTN8, Sunday’s draw held the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville confirmed. 

The Brazilians reached the semi-finals of the competition after they beat a stubborn Polokwane City 1-0 in Atteridgeville on Sunday.

Rise and Shine defender Thabang Matuludi scored an own goal while trying to clear Teboho Mokoena’s attempt in the 101st minute. 

The Brazilians were reduced to 10 men when match referee Eugene Mdluli gave their goalkeeper Denis Onyango a red card after he handled the ball outside the box seven minutes before full-time. 

Left-footed defender Mosa Lebusa took over in goals after Onyango’s exit and the Tshwane giants then brought in Jody February at the beginning of extra time. 

Meanwhile, Cape Town City will play against Orlando Pirates in the second semi-final encounter. Both semi-final matches are going to be played at home and away.
