Noni ‘She Bee Stingin’ Tenge’s preparations for her fight against Ema Kozin from Slovenia are continuing.
Tenge and Kozin are scheduled to fight for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) and World Boxing Council (WBC) Interim female middleweight titles. The duel between the two lasses is going to be held in Malta on Friday, 30 July.
“We are currently busy with our preparations. We remain confident that I will be ready by the time we leave South Africa for Malta. I have done all the tests they asked me to do,” Tenge said.
Tenge, who is trained by Nicky Erasmus and Mkhuseli Kondile in Gqeberha, has not fought since her WBF female junior-middleweight title win over Mapule Ngubane in August 2019.
On the other hand, Kozin’s last fight was against Serbian boxer Radana Knezevic on Saturday, 22 May.
Meanwhile, South African boxer Ayanda Nkosi faces Indonesian Daud Yordan in a WBF lightweight title fight at the same tournament.
Nkosi will become the fourth South African to fight against Yordan, who beat Michael Mokoena and Sipho Taliwe.
Yordan lost to Simphiwe Vetyeka in an International Boxing Organisation (IBO) featherweight title fight in 2013.
