Unbeaten world champion and Japanese-born boxer Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Turki Alalshikh from Saudi Arabia.
According to Yahoo Japan, 31-year-old Inoue has signed a $19,7 million (about R345 million) deal with the Saudi sports promoter even though the duration of the contract is still not yet known.
The signing of the deal means that the World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) titlist will be part of the Riyadh Season.
Inoue is set to defend his crowns against Australian boxer Sam Goodman at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, 24 December. This is going to be the third time Inoue fights this year as he stopped TJ Doheny and Luis Nery in previous fights.
