Ntombokuqala Tolashe will on Wednesday take a very long trip to Korea Republic for a fight against Korean boxer Bo Mi Re Shin in Seoul this coming Saturday.
This fight came just over three months since Tolashe annexed the South African female featherweight title following a points win over Matshidiso Moketsane in Cape Town.
“We were due to leave on Tuesday. Now we are going to leave for Korea on Wednesday and will arrive there on Thursday,” the 28-year-old Tolashe said.
Even though she hasn’t seen much of the Korean’s fights, Tolashe strongly believes that the former World Boxing Council (WBC) International and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Asian Pacific junior-lightweight champion won’t be a problem.
“I have watched her videos and from what I saw, she’s not going to be a problem even though she’s a come forward boxer,” Tolashe, who leaves for Korea Republic together with her trainer Welsh Macibela, remarked.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Shin’s last fight was a seventh round stoppage win over Ana Maria Lozano from Venezuela at the Bukgu Gymnasium in Gwangju City, Korea Republic, almost four months ago.
With 17 wins (10 knockouts), two losses and three draws, Shin is more experienced compared to Tolashe, who has bagged seven victories (one stoppage) and lost four times. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
