Initially set to face Dave ‘The Hunter’ Peñalosa from the Philippines, Lindelani Sibisi’s opponent for next month’s fight has since been changed due to visa challenges.

Sibisi from Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal will now face off against Indian boxer Keisham Luckysun Singh in a vacant IBF International featherweight title contest at the Estcourt Town Hall on Saturday, 11 October.

“We couldn’t get a visa for Peñalosa. There seems to be problems with Home Affairs that side. I don’t know why the Filipinos has become problematic,” Sibisi’s manager Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan from NO DOUBT Management said.

This is going to be Sibisi’s first fight since he won the South African featherweight title following a 10th round stoppage of former champion Zolisa Batyi at East London’s Orient Theatre in May.

The 24-year-old Singh from Imphal, India, is unbeaten in 13 fight having won all of them and registered eight knockouts. Already, Singh has fought twice this year, defeating his compatriots Yuvraj Chaudhary and K Bhavani Prasad in July and March respectively. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
