Vusumuzi ‘Kanu’ Vilakazi has returned to Chippa United as the club’s head coach following the departure of Luc Eymael on Wednesday.

Belgian-born Eymael was shown the door after he only won once, lost four times and drew twice since taking over the coaching reigns at the Gqeberha-based club.

“Chippa United Football Club confirms that it has reached a mutual agreement to part ways with head coach Luc Eymael. The club extends its sincere gratitude to coach Eymael for his contribution and professionalism during his time with us,” a Chilli Boys statement said on Wednesday afternoon.

The statement added: “The club is also pleased to announce the appointment of Kanu Vilakazi as the new head coach of the team. Coach Vilakazi returns with a clear understanding of the club’s culture, values and ambitions. His experience and commitment to our philosophy make him well-positioned to lead the team into the next chapter of our Betway Premiership campaign.

“We take this opportunity to thank our loyal supporters for their continued belief and encouragement during these difficult times. we promise we will bounce back and go back to being a strong and competitive Chilli Boys side.”
