Orlando Pirates are out of the CAF Champions League following an agonising 5-4 penalty kicks loss to St Eloi Lupopo from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday afternoon.

The match was decided on spot kicks after the Buccaneers and the Congolese had played to a 3-3 draw on aggregate.

After Lupopo beat Pirates 3-0 in the first leg match played in the DRC last weekend, the Buccaneers turned the tables and beat the Congolese by the same scoreline through goals from Masindi Nemtajela, Yanela Mbuthuma and Oswin Appollis.
