Orlando Pirates cruised to the semi-finals of the Carling Knockout following a 2-1 win over Magesi FC at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday evening.
After a goalless first half, the Buccaneers came back stronger in the second stanza and opened the scoring from a stunning goal by Tshepang Moremi in the 55th minute.
Evidence Makgopa ensured that Pirates dumped Magesi out of the competition when he netted Bucs’ second goal three minutes before full-time.
And Lehlohonolo Mokone pulled one back for Magesi in the dying minutes of the match, but it was already late as they were bundled out of the competition, which they won last season.
