There’s a change of opponent for knockout specialist Lonwabo Sizani as he’s now scheduled to square up against Errikie Errikie from Namibia at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Saturday, 4 April.
Initially, Sizani had secured a clash against Tanzanian opponent Ahmed Mangula for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Silver junior-lightweight fight. The bout was going to pit two unbeaten boxers against each other.
“The WBC has sanctioned the main bout. Circumstances forced us to change the opponent thus Sizani is fighting against the Namibian now,” Sizani’s promoter from B Promotions boss Mzi Booi said.
The unbeaten Sizani, who is trained by former South African junior-bantamweight champion Mzi Dintsi and Bobbin Sityana, has won all his five fights with stoppages while Errikie’s record stands at four wins with two knockouts and a loss.
Sizani stopped Aphiwe Magobiyane in the fourth round during their fight in November last year and Errikie registered a stoppage win over his Namibian compatriot Benjamin Dula in Windhoek last month. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
