Siwelele FC pushed very hard to hold Orlando Pirates to a 1-1 draw in a Betway Premiership match at the Orlando Amstel Arena in Soweto on Saturday afternoon.
Vincent Pule broke the deadlock when he scored against his former club to give Siwelele the lead following an assist from Tebogo Potsane in the 30th minute. Tshepang Moremi equalised for the Buccaneers seven minutes into the second half from a Thalente Mbatha assist.
Elsewhere, Magesi FC came from behind to draw 2-2 with Chippa United at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane. Ayabulela Konqobe and Somila Ntsundwana netted for the Chilli Boys while Magesi’s goals came from Mncedi Vandala and Sifiso Luthuli.
Meanwhile, Lamontville Golden Arrows defeated Marumo Gallants 2-1 at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria. Sede Junior Dion struck twice for Abafana Bes’thende with Eroine Agnikoi scoring for Gallants.
