After his boxer Errikie ‘Shotgun’ Errikie shot to a fourth round stoppage win over previously unbeaten Lonwabo ‘Monster’ Sizani on Saturday evening, boxing trainer Jose Kambinda is quite happy that they achieved the victory away from home.

Errikie overwhelmed Sizani from the first gong before stopping him on his way to winning the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Youth junior-lightweight title at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City.

The 21-year-old International University of Management (IUM) first year transport and logistics management student dropped Sizani twice in the fourth round before fight referee Siphiwo Mbini stopped the proceedings.

“I’m very happy with his performance. It’s been a long process. We got the opportunity and we took it. It has been a hard struggle for us to get this opportunity and the title. I have been with Shotgun since he was four years old. All our hard work paid off. I’m very happy and grateful to the promoter,” Kambinda remarked.

Following the win, Errikie, who is the first born in a family of eight children in Walvis Bay, improved his record to five wins with three stoppages and one loss. On the other hand, Sizani dropped to five victories with five knockouts and a defeat. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
