Orlando Pirates piled the pressure on log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns as they defeated Stellenbosch FC 2-0 in a Betway Premiership match at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Tuesday evening.

The Buccaneers took the lead through Evidence Makgopa’s goal in the 42nd minute off Patrick Maswanganyi’s assist. Maswanganyi made it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time following a pass from Relebohile Mofokeng.

The Buccaneers are now two points behind the Tshwane giants, who have collected 64 points.

Meanwhile, Siwelele FC and Durban City played to a 2-2 draw at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Mangaung.  

City scored first through Jean Lwamba Lubumba in the seventh minute and six minutes later, Bohlale Ngwato levelled matters for Siwelele. 

The home side shot to the lead for the first time when Ghampani Lungu netted in the 58th minute. Lwamba Lubumba completed his brace after he made it 2-2 in the 76th minute.
