Bafana Bafana midfielder Themba Zwane will continue playing for his club after his contract was renewed by the African champions on Friday afternoon.
Zwane, who will celebrate his 37th birthday in August, is expected to play when Bafana face Nicaragua in an international friendly match at the Orlando Amstel Arena in Soweto on Friday evening.
“Our captain Themba Zwane has signed a new contract, extending his journey with Mamelodi Sundowns. Here’s to writing more history in Yellow,” a Sundowns statement read.
The World Cup-bound star from Tembisa in Ekurhuleni is fresh from lifting the CAF Champions League trophy with the Tshwane giants.
