KwaZulu-Natal boxer and South African champion Phikelelani ‘Stinger’ Khumalo has maintained that there’s no bad blood between him and his former manager Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan from NO DOUBT Management.
Nathan announced this week that he had released Khumalo after the boxer had asked him to do so. The current SA and African Boxing Union (ABU) titlist had joined Nathan’s NO DOUBT Management in March last year.
The champion has revealed that he is now managed by his father Reginald Mvinjelwa Khumalo.
“My manager is my father and I’m fighting in September. My opponent will be announced soon. Me and Colin are still in very good terms. We just decided to go our separate ways. He will always be my friend,” Khumalo said.
Khumalo, a former footballer with Maritzburg United and Lamontville Golden Arrows, is yet to fight since he stopped DonJuan van Heerden in the first round during their bout at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, in November last year. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
