Rated eighth in the Boxing South Africa (BSA) ratings, Mdantsane boxer Amzolele ‘Globe’ Dyeyi will return to action soon as he will be fighting for the vacant Eastern Cape title against Lubabalo Soga.
Dyeyi and Soga are due to face off at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Sunday, 9 August. There’s also a strong possibility that the fight might be moved to September.
“We’ve signed to fight Lubabalo Soga for the Eastern Cape title. Globe is in camp already and is looking sharp,” Dyeyi’s trainer Shannon Strydom revealed.
This provincial title fight is going to pit two former amateur stars with Dyeyi carrying a professional record of five victories with three stoppages while Soga has registered two knockouts in three wins.
Dyeyi won by a third round technical knockout over Mawethu Limo in his last fight held in Komani four months ago and Soga stopped Siphosethu Madasi in the first round at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Gqeberha, earlier this month. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
