Olympic medal hopeful Chad le Clos powered to the 200 metre butterfly final at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Japan early on Tuesday morning.
The 29-year-old Le Clos led from start to finish to secure a place in the final, which is set for 03h49 on Wednesday morning.
Le Clos from Durban won gold in the 200m butterfly at the 2012 London Olympics.
