Orlando Pirates cruised to the second round of the Carling Knockout Cup after they thrashed Milford FC 3-0 at the Orlando Amstel Arena in Soweto on Tuesday evening.
The Buccaneers shot to the lead through Thapelo Mokobodi’s goal from Tshepang Moremi’s pass in the 16th minute. Moremi made it 2-0 off a Thalente Mbatha assist 18 minutes later.
And Moremi completed his brace in referee’s added time after he was put through by Mpho Padime.
Meanwhile, three second half goals scored by Wandile Duba were enough to give his team Kaizer Chiefs a 3-0 win over TS Galaxy at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
Elsewhere, Mamelodi Sundowns have also advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition following a 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants with Siyanda Ndlovu scoring the only goal at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
