In a fight between friends, Likho Sigaba emerged victorious as he registered a points win over Zolisa Batyi in a 10 rounds featherweight bout at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Sunday evening.

All the three judges gave Sigaba from the Mdantsane the nod as he stretched his professional record to 10 victories with four knockouts. On the other hand, Batyi dropped to 11 wins with six stoppages, six losses and a draw.

Batyi, a former South African featherweight champion, tried his best, but it was not good enough, especially with Sigaba holding him a number of times.

In another fight, Siyamthanda Mbali is still standing as the Eastern Cape flyweight champion after he defeated Masivuye Piliso in the main supporting bout.

Mbali, who won the title after he beat Sinovuyo Mthintelwa in April, stopped Piliso in the eighth round following the intervention of fight referee, Siphiwo Mbini. This was after Mbali landed some hard punches on Piliso.

And after losing to Namibian boxer, Errikie Errikie, by a stoppage in April, Lonwabo Sizani came back stronger as he stopped Abelo Tokwe in the fourth round. Sizani landed hard punches on Tokwe, who also gave as much as he received.

Mbulelo Gwabeni from Gqeberha put up a brilliant performance on his way to registering a unanimous points decision victory over former SA featherweight title contender Yamkela Phaliso.

In a fight, which pitted two previously unbeaten boxers against each other, Lukhanyo Matiso defeated Inathi Moyikwa via a split decision.
