Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced a 31-member squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana in September.
The 69-year-old Belgian made the announcement at SAFA House in Johannesburg on Thursday. Broos is going to trim his squad to 23 on Tuesday, 24 August.
Broos selected four goalkeepers – Ronwen Williams (SuperSport United), Veli Mothwa (AmaZulu), Bruce Bvuma (Kaizer Chiefs) and Sifiso Mlungwana from Lamontville Golden Arrows – in his youthful squad.
“My way of working is that we will give a chance to young players,” the former Cameroon national team coach said.
Bafana Bafana face Zimbabwe’s Warriors away at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Friday, 3 September at 15h00. They then clash against Ghana’s BIack Stars art FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Monday, 6 September at 18h00.
