Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz has taken over the coaching of the Egyptian national team.
Queiroz got the job following the sacking of Hossam El Badry earlier this week. El Badry got the boot after a 1-1 draw with Gabon last weekend.
The 68-year-old Mozambican-born Queiroz led Bafana Bafana to the Korea/Japan FIFA World Cup finals, but got the boot months before the tournament.
He also led Portugal during the 2010 World Cup tournament in South Africa. He then went on to lead Iran to the 2014 and 2018 tournaments in Brazil and Russia respectively.
