The South African Football Association (SAFA) has banned match referees Jelly Chavani and Moeketsi Molelekoa for six weeks.

This follows after the duo messed up during a DStv Premiership match between AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs at King’s Park in Durban last Saturday.

Chavani, who was the match referee, and fourth official Molelekoa awarded Chiefs a penalty in added time. Keagan Dolly slotted the penalty to give Chiefs a 1-1 draw with Usuthu.

Chavani and Molelekoa, who were found guilty of executing their duties in an unacceptable manner, are now barred from officiating in both DStv Premiership and GladAfrica Championship matches for six weeks.
