Frédéric Nsabiyumva reckons that their 1-0 win over TS Galaxy in Saturday’s DStv Premiership fixture came as a result of hard of work.
Nsabiyumva scored the all-important goal when the Chilli Boys recorded their second win of the season beating the Rockets at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Before travelling to Nelspruit, the Eastern Cape side had not won a game since their 3-1 win over Maritzburg United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on 3 November.
‘‘It was not an easy game. We came here to fight. We knew that our position where we are is not good. We needed to step up to move forward,’’ Nsabiyumva said.
‘‘We came here for three points, thank God we managed the game and got victory. I thank God for the goal and contributing something to the team. We tried to keep a clean sheet as we played 10 games without a clean sheet. In terms of play we understand what the coach wants us to do, we just have to score more goals when we get chances.’’
Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys’ next match is away to unbeaten Swallows FC at the Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.
And the former Jomo Cosmos defender is bracing himself for a tough encounter against the Dube Birds, who are second on the Premiership table.
‘‘It’s going to be a tough game. The have been doing well considering where they are now. We just have to focus and get three points,’’ the Burundian said.
