Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe has been appointed as chief executive officer of the South African Football Association (SAFA) for five years with immediate effect.
Motlanthe beat other four candidates, who were vying for the top SAFA position.
His appointment was announced by SAFA president Danny Jordaan in Johannesburg on Friday.
“We had an NEC meeting, the first one for 2021. The main purpose was the finalisation of the process, which we started in September last year. The NEC decided on a unanimous basis that Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe be appointed as chief executive officer of the South African Football Association,” Jordaan said.
“His immediate task is to continue the financial strengthening of SAFA. He will also complete the process of strengthening the administration of SAFA.”
Motlanthe, who has been acting as SAFA boss, thanked the organisation’s NEC for appointing him.
“One commits to deliver on the deliverables as mandated by the NEC,” Motlanthe said.
