Hunger for points and a desire to end a poor run in the DStv Premiership are going to drive Kaizer Chiefs when they meet Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Saturday(17h00).

Amakhosi have not had a good start to the 2020/21 season and they desperately need to begin winning having won only once this term. Even that 1-0 victory over Chippa United came via an own goal something
which clearly shows that Amakhosi have been struggling in front of goal.

And Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole has admitted that coming up against the Team of Choice is not going to be easy for them.

Lusaka-born Kambole knows what he is talking about as the team from the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands have frustrated Amakhosi in recent times.

‘‘It’s not gonna be easy. I just have to continue working extra hard, believing in what I can do on the field. By the grace of God I will start scoring. We are prepared for Maritzburg. We will have to go all out and win the game,’’ said Kambole.

That the Team of Choice are coached by former Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp might also be another factor, which makes Kambole to believe that they are going to be tough customers.

‘‘It’s gonna be an emotional game. But business is business,’’ Kambole, who turns 27 on 20 January, said.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi defender Kgotso Moleko is hoping for a win against the Team of Choice.

‘‘I hope things will go well in our game against Maritzburg. It’s gonna be a nice match as they have our former coach,’’ said Moleko.

Amakhosi are in an unfamiliar position on the Premiership standings – 13th – after winning once, drawing four times and losing three matches.

The Team of Choice are just two places below Amakhosi having won once, drawn once and lost six times.

‘‘It’s painful to be where we are. However, looking at how things are we are not that far, things will change if we win our next five games,’’ the 31-year-old defender said.
