South African clubs Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs are not going to face each other in the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

This follows after the Brazilians were drawn in Group B and Amakhosi in Group C during a draw, which was held in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday.

Sundowns, who won the tournament in 2016, are going to face Algerian side CR Belouizdad, Al Hilal from Sudan and TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On the other hand, Amakhosi were drawn against Horoya from Guinea, Angolan club Petro Atletico and Wydad Athletic from Morocco.

Sundowns reached the group stages of the competition following a 5-1 aggregate win over Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy in the preliminary round while Chiefs beat Primero do Agosto from Angola 1-0 on aggregate earlier this week.

The matches are going to start on the second weekend of February and finish on the second weekend of April.
