It was a fine performance as Cape Town City walloped Bloemfontein Celtic 4-0 in a Nedbank Cup last-32 match at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.
And Citizens coach Jan Olde Riekerink has said that it was quality in his team, which gave Phunya Sele Sele no chance. Tashreeq Morris scored a hattrick with the fourth goal coming from Thabo Nodada.
“Overall, I think it was a good performance, we won the game 4-0. I think we are satisfied to go to the next round,” Riekerink said.
“First half I think we didn’t play that well. We made some changes in the second half. We got more opportunities in different spaces. We have qualities to create opportunities then make the team play in spaces where they are dangerous. I think we deserved to win.”
The Dutchman reckons that Phunya Sele Sele only showed up in the first half.
“Bloemfontein played in the first half and were also very good. But second half we dominated, we used our qualities,” Riekerink said.
