AmaZulu avenged their first round loss to Kaizer Chiefs when they beat a 10-man Amakhosi 2-1 in a DStv Premiership match at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Wednesday afternoon.
Augustine Mulenga and Lehlohonolo Majoro scored in each half to give Usuthu the win while Leonardo Castro netted for Chiefs.
Mulenga from Zambia gave Usuthu the lead on the stroke of half time. Chiefs pulled one back in the 66th minute through second half substitute Castro, who netted from the penalty spot after Usuthu defender Tapelo Xoki had fouled Samir Nurkovic inside the box.
Chiefs were reduced to 10 men when match referee Jelly Chavani red carded Darrel Matsheke for a second bookable offence the 72nd minute. Matsheke committed both offences on Mulenga.
Majoro, who substituted Zukile Kewuti in the 76th minute, made it 2-1 in the 86th minute.
This match saw Itumeleng Khune returning to the starting line-up. However, it was not a good return for Khune as he has now conceded 10 goals in six matches.
