Swallows FC thought they had three points in the bag as the match was on added time, but Bulelani Ndengane had other ideas as he netted to ensure that his team Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila drew 1-1 with the Dube Birds in a DStv Premiership match at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Ndengane scored from the penalty spot at the death after he was fouled by Phetso Maphanga, who had only been on the field for less than five minutes.
The former Orland Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic defender cancelled Swallows’ lead, which came courtesy of a Zephaniah Mbokoma goal in the 31st minute.
This was a better performance from Vhadau Vha Damani, who lost 2-0 to the Dube Birds in the first round.
Meanwhile, Lamontville Golden Arrows avenged their first round loss to Black Leopards beating them 3-1 at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
Lidoda Duvha defeated Abafana Bes’thende 2-1 in a first round match played in Durban. Knox Mutizwa, Brandon Parusnath and Velemseni Ndwandwe’s goals gave Arrows the three points with Lifa Hlongwane scoring for Leopards.
