Tlhopane Motsepe is the new chairman of DStv Premiership log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns taking over the running of the club from his dad Patrice Motsepe.
The latest developments come after Motsepe Senior was confirmed as the new president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at the organisation’s 43rd congress in Rabat, Morocco, on Friday.
Tlhopane’s mom Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe has taken a role as an adviser while Dr Rejoice Simelane is the Brazilians’ deputy chairwoman. It is expected that Tlhopane will provide leadership at the club just like his dad has done since taking over the running of the Brazilians more than 15 years ago.
Under Patrice, the Tshwane giants bullied everyone in South Africa collecting trophy after trophy and even going on to win the CAF Champions League trophy in 2016. Currently, the Brazilians are on top of the DStv Premiership table and are still unbeaten.
