It’s been a season where Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has come second best to his Orlando Pirates counterpart Josef Zinnbauer three times already – twice in MTN8 matches and once in the DStv Premiership.

The Buccaneers have, in the process, scored seven times against Chiefs while Amakhosi have only netted once against Pirates this season. And Hunt is hoping for a change of fortunes when Amakhosi clash with the Buccaneers in a Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Sunday (15h30).

“What’s gone is gone in the game. We are going to try for a positive result on Sunday. It’s important for us. We had enough chances in the games, we didn’t take them. In the first game we should have been 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes. We are concentrating on Sunday’s game, that’s the important thing,” Hunt said.

“You go into any game of football the last game is irrelevant. I look at the squad of players available and try to put out the best team available. When you are in this business you don’t worry about what’s gone. We are concentrating on Sunday’s game.”

With Amakhosi having drawn thrice and lost twice in their last five matches while Pirates have won three times, drawn once and lost once, Hunt still believes that such might not have an impact on Sunday’s match. Hunt is in awe of Zinnbauer whom he believes has bought wisely.

“He has invested heavily in the squad, he has made them stronger. They’ve got a lot of options in the squad. It will be a tough game for us, we understand that. If you look at the league, they have done well this season,” Hunt, who revealed that they are going to face Pirates without Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Lebo Manyama, said.

The former Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United mentor has revealed that that he has seen a lot of positives in the youngsters he gave opportunities this season.

“They have done well. The bottom line in football is that we have not been scoring and have been conceding,” the former Hellenic central defender said.
