Two more bouts have been added to the Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) tournament set for the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Gqeberha on Saturday, 24 April.
Initially, the RAP tournament, which is going to be headlined by an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight elimination bout between Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga and Christian ‘The Bomb’ Araneta from the Philippines, had five bouts.
Now former South African and World Boxing Federation (WBF) female junior-lightweight champion Nozipho Bell from Gqeberha will face East London’s Asandiswa Nxokwana in one of the added bouts.
This fight between Bell and Nxokwana, a former South Africa and WBF International female featherweight champion, is going to be a six rounder in the junior-lightweight division.
Bell found herself on the bill after the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro (NMBM) insisted that she fights in the tournament.
The other added bout is between Mthatha’s Lusizo Manzana and former SA flyweight champion Thembelani Nxoshe over six rounds.
Meanwhile, Yanga ‘Showtime’ Sigqibo faces Filipino boxer Jerald Paclar in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Intercontinental junior-bantamweight title fight with Ayabonga Sonjica clashing with Ghanaian Theophilus Tetteh in a vacant IBF Africa junior-featherweight bout.
Jackson Chauke and Luyanda Ntwanambe fight for the SA and vacant WBO Global flyweight titles while Mhlanganisi Sogcwayo and Mandlenkosi Sibusiso are going to clash in a junior-lightweight six rounder.
