An inexperienced Proteas’ bowling attack was made to sweat as the South African national team lost by four wickets to Pakistan in the first Twenty20 match played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Mohammed Rizwan gave a star performance knocking 74 runs from 50 deliveries to steer Pakistan to victory in the first of four T20 matches.
Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen tried their best with the bat in an effort to make sure that the Proteas won the match. However, Markram’s 51 off 32 balls and Klaasen’s 50 runs in 28 deliveries were not enough.
The two sides are going to meet again in the second T20 at the same venue on Monday.
